PlayStation 4 (PS4) Network Connection

This article will help you connect your PlayStation 4 (PS4) to your network via WiFi or over an Ethernet cable.

Connecting Over WiFi

To connect your PS4 to your WiFi network:

  1. On the PS4 home menu, select Settings.
  2. Choose Network.
  3. Select Set Up Internet Connection.
  4. Choose Use WiFi, and then select Easy.
  5. Select your Network Name (SSID) from the list of available networks. (If you don't see your network listed under the available networks, select Set Up Manually and follow the prompts to configure your settings.)

  1. Enter your WiFi password.
  2. Follow the onscreen prompts to manage your settings.

Setting up a Wired Connection

To connect your PS4 to your network with an Ethernet cable:

  1. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to an open port on your router and connect the other end to your PS4 console.
  2. Make sure both your router and your PS4 are powered on.
  3. On the PS4 home menu, select Settings.
  4. Select Network.
  5. Choose Set Up Internet Connection.
  6. Select Use LAN Cable.
  7. Choose Easy. Basic settings are set automatically. This is recommended for most users.
